Various available technologies have created opportunities, as well as challenges, in language pedagogy. Research trend in TeLL is rising in the area of grammar, vocabulary, and writing but decreasing in listening, speaking and reading. There is happening a noticeable shift in the view that technology is a mere tool. Today, technology is considered a major factor in pedagogy and human alliance. Recently, there are three emerging trends in TeLL research which are:
1. multi-purpose
2. multi-genre
3. multi-role/skill in design and evaluation.

As there is a scarcity regarding the approach to relate TeLL with EAP courses, it is highly necessary to develop a framework for EAP-specific TeLL. Research by Liu et al. (2003) shows that writing and reading skills are the two most frequently explored study areas whereas this study found vocabulary, grammar and writing to be the more studied genres than reading. Liu et al. (2003) also support the view that speaking and listening have been the less studied areas till now.
To cut a long story short, technology should be used as a context-creating, context-shifting, and scope changing tool. Finally, TeLL needs to be framed as a socio-cognitive system, and a dynamic and socio-psychological infrastructure for negotiation.
